Abstract

This retrospective case report details the resolution of symptoms of lifelong anxiety, panic attacks, binge eating disorder, menopausal vasomotor symptoms, and laryngopharyngeal reflux in a 48-year-old female contemplative scientist. It explores how interventions targeting systemic energy metabolism, consistent with the Energy Resistance Principle and mitochondrial dysfunction, could target the hallmarks of disease. Interventions, including a carnivore ketogenic diet and other lifestyle strategies, are suggested to have improved energy transformation, leading to improvements in symptoms. It is notable that the dietary change resulted in a lean mass hyper-responder lipid profile phenotype, which aligns with an increased reliance on fat metabolism. Compliance with diet is reported using glucose and ketone blood testing, and the qualitative impact is explored from the subject’s perspective.
